Back Yard Bible Club Blast!
Wint Fox let the Senior High youth group from Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in VA, to help conduct two Back Yard Bible Clubs over 4 days. Over forty kids attended the two clubs, and for most of the children this was the first time they had heard the gospel presented. One mother came and had to find out what had changed her daughter. Her daughter said “I can’t love my gameboy, because it cannot love me back, but God can”. This profound attitude change was brought about by hearing the Word of God.
They teens not only conducted two Back Yard Bible Clubs, they were on the streets passing out door hangers and conducting surveys, in which the Gospel was presented many many more times.
SBC Students on Mission

While many college students look at the summer months as a break, these four students decided to use the summer break to do kingdom work. They assisted New Horizon Church by prayer walking neighborhoods that the team from Mt Pleasant would be conducting the Back Yard Bible Clubs. They also conducted surveys and planning work for the next mission team. They were an invaluable asset to New Horizon for the week that they were with us.
Lexington Baptist Association conducts VBS!
New Horizon was blessed with the gifts and talents of Lexington association again this year. June 21 & 22 Fourteen people traveled over 1000 miles from Lexington county, SC to minister to our community. They brought smiles, enthusiasm and a blow up parrot with a grass skirt. It was all part of the Amazon Outfitters theme. Unfortunately it was monsoon season in New York and the last day of the VBS had to be canceled due to a torrential downpour.

Despite the weather our VBS was an exciting time. Our high attendance last year was 15. This year we started at 15 and went up from there. We met some new people and made some new friends. Twenty five kids attended in all. The kids had great things to say about their time with us.
Broad Acres Baptist Church youth choir….

The Broad Acres Mission team from South Carolina came to help New Horizon Church advertise the “ Amazon Outfitters” VBS. The youth team sang during the morning worship service, and then over the next 3 days they were able to put out 1400 door hangers and do about 100 surveys.
We had two first time visitors the following Sunday as a result of this mission team and our past efforts.
New Horizon’s First International Missionary!
Pastor Jeff wrote in the June newsletter……
On May 13th four New Horizon people got in a van to make a historic trip, historic for us that is. Sherri and I, and John and Kris Flynn drove to JFK to send John on his way to Minsk, Belarus. John spent nearly three weeks teaching Bible doctrine to the students you see pictured above. It was a life changing experience for him. The dedication and passion of these young Belarusian Christians touched him deeply.
Life as a Christian in Belarus isn't easy and may be getting worse. Crosswalk.com ran this news piece June 5th: "In Belarus . . . proposed legislation will lead to the banning of unregistered religious activity." "Under the new law foreigners will also be prevented from leading religious organizations, while religious literature is subjected to prior compulsory censorship. In addition, religious groups with fewer than 20 adult citizen members in any one location will be denied the possibility of registering if new proposals to amend the religion law will be adopted by the Belarus parliament."
The first church in which John had an opportunity to preach has nine members and is unregistered. Please pray that God will give these young men the courage to preach and plant churches in difficult circumstances. Pray that these young women will be able to share their faith and teach the next generation of Belarusians the truth of Christ.
The second church John spoke in had three decisions for Christ after he was done preaching. One of my dreams for New Horizon is that we would be a church which would have an impact for the Gospel all around the world. I had no idea that dream would begin to be fulfilled so quickly. I didn't expect someone from the congregation to beat me there either. God is doing some great things and this church planter is having to run to keep up. Praise God!
